Best cheap wires
I need to get some new spark plug wires because I'm getting some gt40p heads. I need some with 90 degree boots but I've been having a hard time finding them. I dont want the $20 ones, but I cant afford the $90-100 ones. What is a spark plug wire that is a happy medium. Also, can the msd multiangle wires go to 90 degrees? they dont say on summit.

RE: Best cheap wires
i have the multi angle ones from MSD. you will need to use those if you use bbk shorties. on number 7 you will need a 90* you can bend it but its alittle more then a 90*
also ive had bad luck with these wires. seems like the piece that goes over the plug breaks very easy after bending. maybe its just my set but 2 of mine broke just by pulling off the wires. which made me have to take off the damm header

you get what u pay for. if u want a good set up spending the 100 bucks and it should come with some sort of a deal that they will replace for life.. so there u go after a few years it will pay for its self. also check out www.50resto.com and www.mustangsunlimited.com they should have some good stuff and deals. happy driving

Well i looked around on ebay and couldnt find anything really with 90 degree boots. So i was looking looking for a new air filter at my local parts store and i found the same accel wires i had before except with 90 degree boots. So i got those i hope they will work fine.

im telling you this now. if you got bbk shorties listen carefully.
you must put a 90* on number 7. its a must. and you will have to have the headers off to change number 7 plug. also i would wrap number 7 header tube with some heat wrap.
i know from experience msd wires work for this setup. its what i just pulled off my car. and supposly they hold up to heat better and its needed with that less clearance

Yeah I am planning on wrapping #7. I just bought some new autolite platinum plugs for the heads so hopefully I wont have to change them for a long time. I am going to have to put some different boots on the set of wires i just bought though because they are all 90 degrees except 2 of them are straight. I am planning on just taking two of the boots from my old wires (the ends that were on the distributor) and putting them on the wires in place of the 2 straight ones.

So accel is the poorman's MSD right? I know that Accel makes a great cap and rotor (which I'm currently running), and I've heard no complaints about the Ford Racing or Accel wires so obviously they are good but not the best. Where did you get your Accel wires? Autozone? I need plug wires so I guess I'll go ahead and pick some up.
