Distributor's a tooth off. Or more. Re-stab it.

Default Detonation under load with spout in...

The SN95 in question is mine, after replacing a bad msd coil it was cheap insurance to install a new Dist (the old one had corrosion). It was installed exactly like it came out and the timing was reset with the spout out, I decided that since it passed emissions that I could bump it to 12 degrees, we locked it down at 12.5 and it ran solid so I figured done deal and installed the spout. The minute I pulled away it began to knock and back fire under load and also backfired through the exhaust while slowly accelerating. I pulled the spout again and it ran fine. My mileage went away so back in with the spout after setting it to 10degrees. Felt great around the block but after a restart it was missing and knocking under load. I can see where if the dist is a tooth off with the spout in it maybe to far advanced by the computer. If this sounds logical than it maybe the next step but I'd like some more feed back If you all don't mind. Thanks Sam.

Backfire + recent distributor install = distributor isn't in correctly.
