89 mustang not charging
my mustang took a crap on me. first it was the ignition control module. got it replaced. also replaced cap, rotor and ignition coil. it is running like crap. but it is also not charging. had alternator rebuilt. had the negative battery terminal ground wire come loose. is that wire supposed to be attached to the engine block or to the body? still trying to figure it all out. just bought it this tax season. ran great before icm went out. now nothing but problems. any help will be appreciated.
thanks,

The two black/orange wires from the back of the alt to the solenoid, eventually they join into 1 wire and it has a 16ga fuseable link(green sheathing) in it near the solenoid. Check continuity or physically check the link.
There should also be a screw post on the back of the alt labeled "F". If you run a wire from this post to a suitable ground spot, it should bypass the voltage regulator and force a charge. This will test whether the regulator works or not (assuming the link isn't blown). Careful with this though, there's also a screw labeled "A", you don't want to ground that one.
