Default What made my head gasket fail?

I had a hole between each cylinder on head gasket Rest of gasket looked fine car was sitting for two years and took it to shop to dyno tune and wonder if it was from sitting detonation on dyno or install failure gt40x heads with steeda 19 and kb charger with 11 psi used felpro 1011 gasket and arp head bolts torqued to 70 ft lbs with oil They said head bolts were loose on bad side when taken apart

tune was off, find a different tuner and find a way to lower iat's also get fel pro 9333 pt1 gaskets and head studs and torque all to 80 ft lbs

Has cometics on it now and studs and they tuned it after paying for them change head gaskets seems to be running good so far made 350hp340tq auto trans

Look at my mods listed in my pictures. NO leaks or head gasket issues. Spend the money and do it correct. To bad your studs were loose. Make sure your engine is warm before hitting it hard. A cold engine and a heavy foot can cause a head gasket to leak.

Studs don't stretch like standard head bolts do. (Yield to torque)

The last engine I built I wound up re-torquing the studs four days in a row before they would hold at 75ft lbs. After first day the highest I had was 55ft lbs and one was at 35ft lbs! (they were ARP & I was using their special lube)

Torque and retorque.... and retorque.
