Default fuel pump

can a bad fuel pump randomly work when cold?

yup. i wouldnt expect it to last long though. couple minutes at most.

oh ya, what prodably happening is one or more brushes are broken. tuss causing not enough power to rotate the armature. after the car sit for a while the armature can turn slightly and work again or more amps are drawn by the pump and starts it. Best is it get a scope that lets you see wave forms and determine if it is the pump or ECU.
