My 95's tach skips around a little bit and the car seems to miss a little at lower RPMs but run decent under acceleration. The car seems to run very powerful sometimes and then a little crapper other times when im on it. I am planning on doing a ignition upgrade to a crane box and coil and new cap, rotor and wires. Why would the tach be jumpy and should the ignition tune up help? I have heard about a TFi module on the distributor. Sound like a possible problem? Thanks for all the help.

What you're describing doesn't sound that much like ignition to me, unless it just needs a tune up. Sounds more like air or fuel. Have you checked your IAC valvel and TPS. Either of these could be the culprit. Also, I've seen posts about bad connections in the salt and pepper shaker connectors causing strange idle and perfomance issues. First thing I'd check is the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. It might be useful to review some of the articles here; http://www.muscularmustangs.com/maintain.php
