I have 1988 5.0 lx only one tire spin no matter if I spin backwards then put it in 1st gear. I was told that because it was sitting for 5 yrs the clutches in the rearend are bad what should I do to get pos traction?

Rebuild your rear end, it sounds more expensive than it is

It wont go bad from sitting, the clutches wear like anything else so its either due to regular wear, abuse, or someone changed the gear oil and didn't add the friction modifier. You can change the clutches yourself, hardest part will be getting the spring back in place.
