Looking for someone to check me here.... Had to do the head gaskets on my 89 5.0L. I set the valves to 20 ft/lbs of torque at TDC. Haven't set hydraulic lifters in quite a while so I'm hoping one of yall can verify thats right. The car doesn't have any mods that would change the valve lash from stock, but I found about 10 different methods when I googled it. Ranging from using a torque wrench, to 1 turn past snug on the push rod and everything in between. So, thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance!

what i have read and been told from the guys over at summit and trick flow, tighten the rocker nut down untill you have no play in the pushrod up or down (you may be able to feel tension on it by spinning it. then turn the nut on top 3/4 past 0 lash (no play). then take the allen screw on top of the roller and tighten it down if you have one. after this was tight i took the nut and bumped it forward slightly with a 5/8 box wrench and tapping with a hammer gingerly

If you're using the stock valvetrain, just tighten 'em till they don't tighten anymore. The fulcrum guide provides perfect lash.

....ahh yes...well i guess i assumed for whatever reason they were adjustable ><
