Default how well does your 5.0 go in the snow

I live in Pennsylvania near Harrisburg. The most we usually get is about 6 inches or so. However we're past due for a storm that dumps 2 feet. If that happens everything shuts down. I know being rear wheel and all it can be a pain.

Ever driven about 30 minutes after it rains? Imagine that 10x's. Basically it flat out sucks, I mean it's possible and people can do it, it's just not fun whatsoever, especially with a manual.

I get 20 mpg average.
Don't even try driving in the snow. It's horrible.
I wouldn't even try it with the traction control 4.6 models.

At one time a mustang was my only car. I lived on Long Island. It was horrible in the winter. Thank God I never wrecked. Now I live in S Florida...don't have to worry about it....except hurricanes lol.

i drove my 5.0 for a whole winter here in colorado, just put on some studded snow tires and drive slow and you will be okay. or buy a beater for 500 bucks

Ouch that hurts. Yea my buddy has a 5.0 he used to drive it in the snow b/c it was his only car. I hope we dont get anything bad this year i'm thinking of getting a cheap beater car if something comes up....I dont have the need to go very far except for school. Here in PA they salt the hell out of the roads they usually keep them plowed pretty well. At about 1 inch the roads get plowed and salted. The salt in PA here where I live is so bad that a month into the spring after the snow has cleared there are still salt stains on the road. It takes a few rains to wash the stains away.

let me tell ya, DONT RISK IT!!! i live in the northern 1/4 of NH and ive had plenty of trouble with the damn rain, much less the snow. mine goes away early oct., comes out late apr. its worth havin a $500 beater just to protect your thousands in your stang. the risk factor is a billion times more in the snow. plus it just sounds cool: "yeah, ive got this bomb for the winter. wait till i get out my summer toy."

I don't know how my Stang goes in the snow, cuz I park it for the winter.
But I do drive my 2WD pick-up (rear wheel drive) all winter, and it's really important to have snow tires. Not All-Season, but real snow tires.
Weight directly over the rear axle in the trunk helps a lot too. About 150 lbs or so makes a big difference. You can use sand bags, or those round weights that weight lifters use on their bars. I could go most anywhere in my old Pinto with 3 50 lb weights in the trunk but I did have to replace some rear springs that spring...[:@] I think they were pretty well shot anyways...LOL
