Yeah, those funny looking ones where the whole back end opens up....

About underdrive pullies. I think they do free up some HP, as everything is turning slower (waterpump, alternator, power steering, smog pump, AC). I don't think it frees up enough power that you can feel it by driving the car around town, but you might notice it at the track if you're a good and consistent driver.

The trade off is that at night, you will notice, with your lights on especially, that your alternator gauge will read lower than before. Does it hurt anything? Not that I'm aware of. But if you have a big fancy stereo system requiring plenty of amps, then I would not get underdrive pullies.

my friend got 2 tenth's of a second with just a smaller crank pulley... i dont know how a whole kit would react but the crank pulley is the pulley thats robbing hp IMO.

Put pullies on the vert and felt a difference, because the crank pulley is alot smaller the car gets up and goes faster without having to turn all the accessories over. Sure the lights dim at an idle but thats about it, car runs at about 190 degrees in 95+ florida weather. I bought the march set and am really pleased.

if you are worried about charging, you can just use the crank and water pump pulley with the stock alternator pulley. The alternator pulley seems to make the lights dim, but I haven't heard of any cooling probs associated with the water pump pulley.

the crank pulley alone will effect charging because in turn everything is slowed down.
