Default Mustang bell housing

Does anyone know the width of a foxbody bell housing and a width of the sn95 bell housing? Here's my problem. I recently purchased a 92 lx with a 5.0 swap in it. The trans went so I got a trans off Craigslist. I pulled the old trans and the new trans I got wont work with the bell housing because the shaft is longer and so is the shaft retainer. Neither trans missions have tags on them. Now I'm not sure if the trans that was in my car was a 4cyl trans and bell or if the trans I purchased is from a sn95. They guy I got the trans from said it was pulled out of his 91 gt. If it is a sn95 trans would I be better of getting a bell housing or swapping shafts? Also if I did the bell housing would the driveshaft have to be shortened any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks
