Default 1990 gt aod problems

Ok so my tranny has been acting up lately it doesn't want to shift gears for a while it just seems to Rev up then eventually after a few minutes it shifts but it shift in real high rpm then when coming to a stop and going to take off it stays in high gear I changed fluids and now it seems I need to change it again I think its burnt already any help on what can be wrong

TV cable fell out of adjustment and was never fixed, causing the burnt(again) fluid. Tranny is dead. Sorry.

So should I rebuild it or buy a new transmission I know rebuilding it may be cheaper for me right now i just want it running right again

Rebuild will probably be cheaper, if you can remove & install yourself. Reman units are in the $1500-$2k range. Rebuilding should be under that by a ways.

Then again, you have junkyard options (www.car-part.com) and you also have the option to convert it to standard.

Action Auto Wreckers in San Jose (1-800-606-9732) has one with 63,000 on it, $650.

Then, after all is said and done, do this(pay close attention to the bushing part, that's probably where your issue lays):

do you know what a good rebuild kit is and whats the diffrence between an overhaul kit and rebuild kit

go to www.RockAuto.com, click the Start button, then click the Part Number Search tab.
Type in LMS4 and the kit should be there, $154.79

i would only get the kit with the kevlar OD band. should be able to get it rebuilt in the 500-800 range...go ahead and put a shift kit in it.
