Default 95 GT

I just purchased a 95 gt.It has 160000 miles.Last owner of 5 years fixed almost all common wear items clutch, tie rods, bushings,wp,hoses radiator,ac system, tires, brakes, timing chain gear, cam and lifters.Car still needs another $1500.00 in repairs, pinion bearing, cats have been replaced with h pipe so I would like to put cats back on,and car needs paint on roof and trunk. Is this car worth the investment with still having original engine and 5 speed trans which at this time seem to be working just fine no oil burning and trans shifts good with no leaks. Not to mention this is a play toy 3rd vehicle.

Welcome to the forums! Are you wanting to mod it or just keep it stock? I wouldn't put the cats back on, thats just me. Throw a better sounding set of mufflers on it and it'll sound good. If its not leaking/burning anything then I'd say keep it and just fix it up to be a weekend cruiser.

I want to keep it stock, and thats why I want the cats it's way too loud for my liking and the shop I went to said there isn't enough room for bigger mufflers to quiet it down.

what kind of mufflers are on it now. My 94 has no cats with just some flowmaster super 44s running all the way out the back It is not loud but it has a nice rumble to it . You dont nessecarily need to put cats or bigger mufflers on it to quiet it down. It all depends on the way a muffler is made. Thrush makes some decent sounding mufflers that can either be quiet or loud and there cheap.

Almost none of these old Mustangs are "WORTH" the investment. There are a million of them out there so they have no collector value. But If you like the car and have no day dreams of selling it for a profit anytime soon they sure do make nice project. They are good looking cars with alot of power pontential.

I wouldnt tit would be all that loud w stock mufflers. I run SpinTech mufflers on mine w an o/r x pipe, its only loud when you want it to be. To answer your initial question, i agree w the fact that they have no collector value.

Just out of curiosity what did you pay for it ? I bought mine for $2,500 with a rebuilt 89 5.0 using the upper 94 intakes and injection. Had brand new tires cai and the super 44s on it when i got it. I deleted the cats and installed a set of ford racing 3.73 gears that I got off ebay with the install kit for $224. Ive been offerd $3,500 so I dont agree that you cant make a profit it all depends on what you have invested in the car.
In my area the sn95 body style is pretty popular so Im sure if i advertised mine i could see as much as 3,800 for it.
