the shyncronizer is part of second gear, so you'd need the whole gear or do you mean the blocker ring for it?? do to the nature of 2nd gear and abuse ther of, most likely you need it as well.....call Kevin at www.thegearbox.org better prices

All i know is that it grinds into second gear if i shift it hard or above like 2500..basically if i get on the car it grinds into gear, other wise i have no problem with second

new second gear and blocker rings for that gear, best to buy the overhaul kit which will have all the blocker rings for all gears and a new second gear, trust me when you pull it apart you'll see the little teeth on the second gear called the synchro hub and gauaranteed all the little teeth will be mushroomed flat, they should be sharp and pointy like a roof top

You'll be alright. Just shift slow enough to keep it from grinding. Mine is also bad and I've just learnt to shift slower. I even went to the dragstrip couple weeks ago. Its painful watching cars pull away 3-4 car lengths during my 1-2 shift but it was just for fun. I still ran a 14.5 which kinda surprised me.

Just keep it in check and save for a tranny rebuild. You'll get there..

I've been saving and this winter I'm doing the whole tranny. Everything from the Rear main oil seal to the end of the tailshaft will be rebuilt / new / upgraded. Took me over a year of saving and slow shifting but it'll be worth it.
