t5 trouble

Default t5 trouble

I have a 94 that started life as v6, i converted to 5.0 many years ago, still has original t5 5 speed, been rebuilt 3 times, keeps sticking in 3rd gear, can get it out after shutting off engine, any ideas to fix or can I swap to a better tranny

where in MD are you?? could be an issue with the slider or shift dogs.....what do you mean sticking???

I am in Ocean City, shop supervisor at Sears Auto Center in Salisbury. When down shifting from third, shifter hangs up. Can not come out of third or all the way back in. untill engine is shut off. then with hard it on shifter goes into neutral and will be ok until it happens again. local trans shop just went through it (250.00 for trans, 200 r&r) I need to get it back to them, but it is a hassel. I am wondering if there is a better trans to swap. After 3 rebuilds it gets a little old

no offense but that price for rebuild....there is no way that they addressed the proper things/ components.....everytime I have rebuilt a t-5, just in parts I end up spending close to 500.00 and that's for a standard rebuild kit and often a gear or two or slider, ect ect, 250 for trans seems like all it got was a blocker ring kit and bearings and the hard parts were not addressed, my bet is there is a prob with the slider, or shift fork or shift dogs on that gear, I'm about 3 hrs from oc, in frederick, I've rebuilt tons of t-5's
