Air Bag electronic diagnostic monitor removal

Air Bag electronic diagnostic monitor removal
I have a 95 mustang GT and would like to remove the air bag diagnostic monitor. I know its location and can see it from the drivers side floor. I have taken the center console area and HVAC/stereo dash area apart several times. My questions are:
1. Does the air bag electronic diagnostic monitor have harness attachments? If so, can you simply take them off and remove the unit? If not, is there any problem with just cutting the wires leading in/out?
2. Will the entire air bag system be rendered inoperable? (That is what I am shooting for.)
3. With the unit out, is there any way either airbag could deploy?
I did read in the Haynes manual that the unit is responsible for supplying the current to the airbags.
4. Will the annoying chime that is sounding right now (because I took the airbag warning light out of the dash instrument cluster) be disabled?
Somebody who has done this before please - no guesses.
Thanks.
