Default oil leak

Anyone ever have a leak around the distributor in their 5.0? I have an '87 and did a few rebuilds on it and it's never stopped leaking from around the base.

Yeah check your little rubber gasket and make sure there is norips or anything. Also check your oil pan for any rusting or holes what not.

Yes,those O-Rings are very fragile. Also smear a little oil on it when putting it back in so that it slides over and imperfections and doesnt tear again.

i'll take a peak at it when i get a chance. i am wondering if some kind of gasket sealer would be worth putting on as well when assembly time comes. Only prob i see with that is adjusting timing which is fairly important, lol
