stock fuel injector v 24lb injector

stock fuel injector v 24lb injector
I'm seeing many people are running 24lb fuel injectors on their 302's. Can someone explain to me the reason? And, if I put in 24lb injectors, any suggestions as to what brand? And any computer modifications?
Please respond, I'm very interested. And FYI, I'm pulling my engine this weekend, due to running compression test, results of anywhere of 118psi to 135psi. Cylinder leakage test shows from 15% up to 40% leakage loss, all of which have strongest loss thru the crankcase... these engines common for ring issues?

most will run 24's if they have done some modifications. Others just throw them in thinking they will get better hp. Rule of thumb...you bring in more air...you need more gas and better spark...and a less restrictive exhaust to gain hp. Depending on your year model...I have been told that the factory installed 19's and car buyers were complaining about them running lean. So they later came stock with 20's. I don't know the exact science to injectors as in how accurate the impedence is at wot and idle and all that stuff or how hard they have to work to supply fuel. I would say that if you haven't done any mods requiring more fuel...then stay stock...or watch your mpg's go down faster.

If your hp level is under 300 at the crank, 19's will be perfectly fine.
How many miles are on this motor? The 302 has a very good reputation for longevity, only shortened by lack of maintenance.

you've been told wrong, 86-95 unless it's a cobra were all 19 lbs stock, never was there such a thing of 20's being introduced...if such were the case there would of been a tsb produced as a corrective action, 19's were more than sufficient up to around 300 hp
