I have a 86old with a aod with a tranny problem but what I was wondering if it is worth rebuilding looking to make 300-400 HP with a Turbo so I rebuild this one or get a different one but needs to be auto

ditch the aod, the turbo will toast them if not built for it, lentech makes a good built aod but expensive

So what tranny other than a aod that will be cheaper that is a auto that will work

c-4 but you'll lose the overdrive

What do you suggest to do with a stock c4 tranny to make it a good street strip to withhold 400 HP

Don't do anything to a stock one, just buy a Super Comp reverse manual VB C4 from Performance Automatics (good for 1000hp).... just don't expect good customer service from them, they are all ******** from the word go.
