Help with engineering stupidity
Just installed the 1" spacer and Trickflow R-series upper intake. The spacer came with a longer hardware kit (not sure if that has anything to do with the problem).

I believe this is as far as the bolt will go, I didn't want to keep torquing it and strip the aluminum all to hell. Absolutely no clamping pressure.

This is probably just an overlooked design issue. How the hell am I supposed to get the nut on the stud? This one isn't as bad, I'll probably cut the stud down a bit.
I'd like to get some suggestions to fix this. This is the crap thats most irritating.

Call the guys at Trick Flow, I've talked with different people there many times and they are all really cool. Tell them what's going on and send them some pics so they can see that the hardware they are supplying isn't working... and let us know what they have to say about this problem.

Am I the only one noticing that the pictures appear to say that the spacer isn't installed? Unless the spacer is made of aluminum and has the exact same appearance as the upper intake. Look behind that plug wire, there is no spacer installed there.

Thats my garage light reflecting off the aluminum. The spacer is just below that, its painted blue (its hard to see in that pic). Ill take another pic of it tonight. My buddy said he had the same problem w that stud, and just to lift the intake enough to get the nut in there and start tightening the nut. Its the center bolt that I'm having the real trouble with
