Replaced Rack n pinnion now when turning rims grind on control arm needhelp
I have a 1994 mustang. Rack and pinnion was leaking so I went to advance auto parts and bought a fenco rack and pinnion. I installed it on the car. And now when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. The right wheel is scrapping on the lower control arm shaving metal off of the edge of the rim. And on the other side. The tire is rubbing on the stabilizer. And if I turn the wheel to the left it is basicly visverssa. My problem is that when I turn the wheels the rack in pinion is turning way to far. And not stopping at its certain point. And after I put it in I had it aligned. I checked to see if I missed something. Or to see if the rack and pinnion was not tight enuff. Eveything looks good. There is nothing loose. I talked to a friend and he says he doesn't thing it is the rack and pinnion. But that is the only thing I replaced on the car. I never had a problem with the old rack and pinnion turning to far. I don't know what to do. If anyone knows anything please let me know! Thank you!

You can get a set of rack limiters to keep the wheels from turning too sharp. You may have gotten a different ratio rack. I think they make a 15:1 and a 16:1. Should notice any difference though. Check some Mustang sites for the limiters.
