Default Issues, Need opinions

I have an '89 LX coupe with the 302. Have a few things I need to do and curious about some things as well.

I know the pollution stuff is disconnected and that it's blocked off, but what I'm concerned about is the EGR valve has a little hose connector coming off of it but it doesn't have a hose connected to it. Does it actually need to be connected and will it affect the running at all on a built motor? Where would it connect to anyways?

If the emmisions has already been removed then the vacuum line that attaches to the EGR valve is pointless. There is 1 vacuum line that comes off the back of the intake and runs the whole EGR setup.

No it will not affect how the engine performs.

egr does not affect how it runs if the egr is disconnected, if there is a problem with it the eec iv strategy deletes the function so as to not open vac from evr selonoid to valve, if you unplug the egr sensor on the valve the CEL will come on and a EGR simulator/resistor pac plug can be purchased from RJM enterprises to trick the ecm.......in a built motor if compression were high enough egr would be benificial as it induces exhaust gases into the cumbustion process, hence reducing cumbustion temp to therefore lower emissions and or the potential for detonation....EGR quenches the temps.

Yea I just didn't know because on the last few cars that I did the motors on, I went with the Edelbrock Performer RPM and just did the EGR delete, but this car has the cobra intake which has the egr pretty much built into it, so I wasn't sure if it would cause any issues, which really wouldn't be a big deal anyways because I'm going to get it tuned on Jan 4th.

I have rpm heads on my s/c 89, an they are the non emission head, I ran a massively porte cobra upper an lower for a while with a egr delete plate and the resistor pac and no issues, I eventually switched to an rpm 2 that now resides on it.
