Default Speedometer & Odometer

- I had a wobbly speedo needle on the dash

- I replaced the speedo cable and both gears

= Now the speedometer/odometer doesn't work at all

Do I need a new speedo sensor? I think the problem exists on the tranny side of things but I can't figure this out.

Take the cable out of the trans and stick a drill on it while a buddy watches the speedo.

I already have the dash taken apart, everything is connected, but what would that tell me?

Whether or not you have mesh issues internally with the trans or not. Force it to work as it should and diagnose from there.

Well, the speedo gears are fine. I just installed a brand new gforce transmission, where the internal gear is brand new, and the cable-gear is in good condition; not many miles on it (replaced recently).

When I was pushing the cable into the speedo-sensor it was more difficult than the old one. I had to really push and hold it in with one hand, so that I could push the U-shaped clip onto it.

Also, I have a lot of fluid on the speedo sensor. I think its been leaking fluid since before the tranny-swap.
