I understand the tight budget due to college. i just graduated so i am still in recovery.

I agree about the k&N. Not that there was a huge hp gaim but the change in responce was great.

Not everyone will agree with this but I think some of the early FOX cars are already increasing in value.
They are now old enough the used car market don't set the prices anymore. Cars that were popular when they were new will be popular when they get old (20+years).
It could be that we are just now in the trend that the '64-'66 cars were in back about 1975-78when prices started creeping up. Now look at them, prices are out of site even for the base models.......

Us early 'FOX' types got some advantage over the later cars.
1. These cars are lighter by a bunch.
2. If it's early enough, no airbags.
3. '85 or earlier is carbed, O.E. on a lot of these is a 600 Holley 4150 series.
4. If you are finding parts at auto wrecker they are pretty cheap.
5. No computers
I'm sure the list can go on and on, thats just what i can think of right now....
Actually the 85 has a Holley 585 cfm 4180 smog carb. Ford called it a 600 but ....... I you don't have to worry about emissions, junk it and throw on a real 600 or if you have a H/C/I combo, a 650.

Fishhawk; '85 per NHRA stock eliminator specs. I think they 'superseded' the smogger......
Ford must have used those small Holleys on about a million applications in the 70's. Buy at the wrecker for for $5-10 nowadays......
