personally i think you were better off with the holley carb. do you know what size the holley was?

it sounds like you have some sort of vacuum leak somewhere.

The holley is a 600 cfm 4010 , looks kinda like the old autolite carbs from the 60's , the top comes of as one piece , a friend gave it to me along with the intake(weiand 2p 180) he had bought to use for another motor and never did , they sat in the garage for 15 -20 years never ran , and that carb held a good idle but just couldnt get it to run right , it didnt have power when you would get into it , tried different springs and settings to no avail . Back to the edelbrock , took the top of and blew it out again and looked at the floats and they checked out , but it did no good , i noticed that when its first started and i have the choke closed in pretty good it sounds ok tho its ideling a little high but when the choke is opened it falls flat , and there is fuel dripping out of the driver side booster and running out of the passanger side booster at idle , i know this isnt right , cant tell if its doing it with the choke closed cause i cant see it , fuel pressure is at 5psi , and i thought maybe the butterflies were open to far at idle pulling the fuel in like that but i dont think thats the case , idle screw is not open that far .

i dont know much about edlebrock carbs because they dont make good power at all. it is not supposed to be leaking fuel like that, it should be a nice mist. i would switch back to the holley or try and find a quickfuel. with the holley swap for the better accelerator pump, lightest secondary spring (that way secondaries open sooner) and the bigger power valve. that should make that carb really wake up.

I tried different springs on the holley and didnt help , the pump on it works fine and the power valve iv used a 5.5 and 7.5 and 6.5 and within a day or two they blow , and i can always tell when they have blown because you can open the choke up all the way with no change in the motor on a cold start . I am getting a 600 dp a 4776-2 , and see how it does , im tired of messing with carbs , seems like since i built this motor last april iv been plagued with carb problems , and i cant figure out that edelbrock , iv tried everything and i know it seems like an air leak but cant find it but really seems like something is screwed up on it , probably why i got such a good deal on it no doubt .
