Default Checking crankshaft end play

I want to check crankshaft end play and wondering which area in the crank do I insert the feeler gauge? And what size feeler gauge should go in?

I borrowed my friends dial indicator and I only have .002 of crankshaft end play. What can I do to increase the end play?

Take the number 3 main bearing, known as the thrust bearing, and a flat surface and sandpaper and sand a small amount then recheck until you get the results you want usually between .004-.008 anything over that you may want new bearings.

atleast 220 you dont want grooves in the bearing! if you could get a piece of 1000 that would be better!

Do I sand both thrust bearings? The one in the block and in the main cap? And sand both sides?

Do both the top bearing ( in the block) and the bottom bearing.
I'd just do one side, make sure it's the same side on both of them........
