Im running 10.5/1 compression if that changes my numbers at all. But 250 hp at the crank wouldnt I get that with just my bolt ons, or not? I woulda thought with a 306 and spending 2100 on pistons rods and crank that he would have gained a little bit more horsepower but most of you know more than i do.

nope, bottom end stuff doesnt help HP, just makes the motor more capable of handling high HP. bolt on only do so much with stock heads, cam, and intake. it is very hard to get a N/A 5.0 with stock heads to see 300HP at the crank, much less the wheels.

Well **** that kind of disappoints me, I thought my car had more ***** than that. Once I get my gears in I think Im going to go get it dynoed. How long of a break in period should I give the gears before I can start racing and odd time that I squeal the fires?

anytime i do a gearset i leave the rear jacked up and put the tranny in drive or second gear and just let it run the gears for about 10mins. this warms the oil, and will lubricate all the bearings before loading them, after that i would say 100miles max. and by the way, gears dont change HP numbers, so dyno before or after it will be the same. dont worry too much about HP #s, if youre car is winning races, and is fun to drive thats all that matters.

Yeah I just wanna do it with the gears tho so that Ill be abel to get a better idea on what my 1/4 mile time is and mph. 100 miles isnt bad I was thinkin bout 250ish or so jus tto make sure I didnt **** anything up, but I think by the time I get my gears here and get them in the snow will be here and Ill have my car parked for witner I live in a town of 2500 ppl and out of the 7 stangs here mines tha fastest, so as long as I stay the fastest Im satisfied I guess. This will just make me wanna work that much harder to get more money to get more parts for more hp.
