Default new to 5.0s, HELP

hey guys, i'm new to this site and mustangs in general, i've always wanted a fox, i might be trading my 89 formula for a 86 gt, the car is a efi car, but has a 87 motor laying in the bay, not hooked up just laying in there, will the 87 harness match to the 86? it also has no trans but is a 5 speed car, i just want to know if it's a "plug and play" thing, and if it's not, what needs to be changed?
