Have some problems to fix
My friend has a 1990 gt that i might buy but he wants to fix some stuff on it first before he sells it to me. Here are the problems, blinkers dont work what are some of the stuff we can check other then the obviouse like fuses? The speedometer bounces around under 50 mph, would that be the speedo cable or something else? And the last thing is it seems as if the throttle body or throttle cable is sticking because when you shift it it will hold the rpms at the same point they were at when the clutch is pressed in, it will only do that for a couple of seconds. Thats about it other then those problems the car runs pretty strong, it is pretty clean for a 15 year old car and the only cosmetic problem it has is that horrible looking tint on the back window that has bubbled. Thanks for your help

RE: Have some problems to fix
Those things mentioned are minor obstacles that can easily be remedied. Your concern should be the condition of the engine and tranny. A leak down test of the cylinders should be done to see how good a motor you have. I would also want to know if the frame is straight? has been in any major accidents? Alo is it rust free? etc. If the motor checks out and the body is good, the other stuff can be fixed with time and not a lot of $'s.

yeah i told him i would just fix them myself but he said he would rather fix them. The tranny shifts smooth and dosent grind at all, he mentioned something like the tranny was a t-6 or something i dont know too much about these cars yet i thought they only came with t-5's or the AOD's, but i could be wrong. I am planning on doing a compression test on the car next time i go over there. The car is nice it is the anniversery edition GT with the all black interior and it is clean inside and out, there isnt much if any rust, it has been garage kept.

For the turn signals, I'll bet it's the flasher. And the flasher probably won't be near the fuse box. Instead, it'll be located up behind the radio, stuck to a brace under the dash. And it will be stuck on there good. It'll take quite a yank to pop it off the brace.
