Default belt squeal.. pully swap.. pully location

I Put a motor from a 1990 mustang in my 94 and used the 94 brackets and pullys. Now my belt squeals alot and I have changed belt several times. new belts stay quiet for about 30 minutes then the squeal starts. So I figured the pully must be out of alignment but how? took it all off and reinstalled it all and got same issue. could crank pully from a 94 need a spacer? If I push belt back to water pump it stops. water pump pully also looks worn ( could that be it). Gonna buy a set of underdrives and see if it stops. does anybody got info on pully location on crank from 90 - 94?

What happens if you install the pulleys etc from the ’90 motor? With the ’94 pulleys, does the belt tensioner produce enough pressure on the belt? If you press on the belt tensioner arm to make it apply more pressure on the belt, does the squealing stop? If so, then the belt tensioner isn’t applying enough tension or the belt is too big.

Good luck...

the 94 uses a different timing cover and water pump set up to align stuff, did you swap the timing cover from the 94 and w/p to the 90 motor??

I changed timing cover and water pump. put all parts from 94 on to the 90 motor. even thought tensioner was bad so I bought a new one. tried a few different belts also. squeal always stops for about 30 minutes but then returns. I can see that the water pump pulley is pretty worn and applied a lube to the back of the belt making sure only the back got lube and the squeal slowly stopped for a small time. water pump is only pulley that back of belt touches, oh and tensioner. but maybe lube could have worked around somehow. I'm stumped..... maybe just try new pulleys.. I also noticed if I pushed the belt so its closer to the back of the water pump pulley it stops the squeal. Maybe crank pulley just not alligned somehow.

I currently have a bad bearing on my belt tensioner. I can put belt dressing on the belt and get it to stop squealing for a few minutes. Just something to think about op.

also make sure the smog pump or any of the other accessories are not locking up due to a bad bearing of the sort

I have an 89 block in my 94 , and at first I had an ac delete pulley installed and it squealed on and off . I noticed the power steering pulley and ac delete pulley were out of alignment by about a half of a rib . I removed the ac delete bracket and went to a shorter belt and all squealing stopped.
