Default A/C quick disconnect trouble

I'm in the process of replacing my heater core and hit a brick wall trying to get this stupid quick disconnect removed from the firewall, any trick to this? I have the metal tool but still no luck, can I just use a hacksaw if I am getting my ac serviced at a shop next week? What's the part number for the line?

I used a metal disconnect tool that had about 4 sizes on it but I had to file the one that fit down some so it would slide under the collar. Once you get it to go under you have to push the line together then pull it apart. No "quick" disconnect to it.

The metal ones are about useless for anything but fuel lines. You need something similar to these: http://www.harborfreight.com/6-piece...ool-97576.html

What makes these connectors so hard to remove is the spring inside the collar.

To make it easier, spray some penetrant oil inside and let it work, then take a small flat blade screw driver and push it in the collar and work it the whole way around the spring to make sure it is broken lose from the collar.

Now take one of the plastic tools (not metal) and gently sand a bevel on the edge that pushes inside the collar. Put some grease on it to make it slide on easier. Then have someone give you hand by pulling the lines apart while you are pushing the tool inside the collar.
