Default Brake Help

Hello to all, I found a small brake fluid leek on my fox from this part:

Not sure what it is called, so I will call it the "brake distribution block"....hopefully that's what its called. The pic above is not of my car, but a pic I found on-line. I looked on Latemodel & Mustangs Unlimited & cannot find the part. Excuse my ignorance on this, but I have some questions.

1. Can this part be bought new, if so, where?
2. All the lines are tight, should I remove all lines & re-install with teflon tape? Is it recommened to use teflon tape on brake lines??
3. Looks like removing this part will make a BIG brake fluid mess & I would need to remove air from the lines afterwords....any "neat" way of doing this?

Thanks!!

That block itself is prolly not leaking, it's prolly a loose brake line screwed into it, try snugging all the lines up going into it.

Its referred to as the proportioning valve on foxes. Dont know where to get one though. Do not put tape on the fittings. The threads arent the sealing part the flare is.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I plan on doing this on the weekend. I would love to get a new unit, but like I stated, they are no where to be found. I'm going to try locally at the part stores.

That piece doesn't usually go bad, it's just a milled piece of metal.

check for a crack in the flared end if fittings are not loose.
