Default camshaft replacement help,Rocker arms help

I am going to replace a cam soon, I just need a little help, i know its recomended to replace the bearings, but is it tough as far as replacing them? I mean I know that supports the cam if i am not mistakin, my question is how they actually go on there, pressed on, bolted, screwed etc.

I have stud mount rockers and i know for pedistal mount they justsit on the ped. For stud i understand its the pushrod and spring that pushes holds them if im correct. My question is how do I correctly align them?

I'll take the part about the cam.
I really doubt if you need to replace the bearings at all unless they have been removed.
As a fact they are technically not bearings but rather they are bushings anyway.

to center the roller tip on the valvestem so one side is not hanging off to the left or right more, about all you can do is move the guide plate side to side if you have such, after that if one stays centered while another hangs off to the side, at that point it's time for adjustable guide plates. I've had to use such many times.

Thanks for all the info! also,Im looking for a cam, found one on corral for under 200 its a comp cam 282, I didnt know if the came is to big for the engine 302. I have ported gt40ys cobra intake, I know a lot of restriction, its just for the time being, 1.6 rr, and exhaust to support it. Let me know, thanks again!

you'd better have a health top end for the xe282 cam as well as the proper valvetrain components, that cam needs some stout springs or prepare for valve float/rpm issues, I ran that cam in a high compression 302 as well as my 347 for a while

Well i have ported gt40ys, behive springs up to .575, hardened puchrods, 1.6 rr, as fo intake I have cobra intake and thats about it. Would you consider that enough, let it be know my compression is still probably the 9:1 stock.

nope, doubt those springs will handle that cam, www.flowtechinduction.com/ email ED and he can set you up with what you need. The issue you'll run into finding a stout spring for that cam and using those stock style heads are most will require you to machine the spring pockets, however ED can most liklely set you up with a lsx style spring that may not require such, he is a better authority on that

I really think the cam was designed for more than 9:1 compression, maybe 10:1 would be okay.
The cam will 'work' at 9:1 compression but you won't get quite all the benefits from it as cylinder pressue won't be high enough........
