Default Radiator support replacement

How hard is it really..? Is the aligning process critical and hard?

critical, yes. hard, depends on how many people you have to help, and what tools you're using. Bolt-ins are cake, weld/dimpled ones take a bit more finesse.

thanks. I have an 86 that has a messed up radiator support. I see i can buy it new but the hard part must be the install. How much do you think someone that has experience welding but not a pro can do it for? So the stock one is welded dimpled im guessing.., shouldnt the new one go on the same..? I didnt know you can just bolt on?

Hardest part for me was cutting the old one out. I had some fun getting my new one in also since my frame rails seemed wider that the replacement support. I ended up plug welding it back in using the holes I drilled for the spot welds, and then put a perimeter lap weld around the frame rails where they hit the support. Lets just say I wouldnt want to get hit with the front of my car.
