Default New here, 89 5.0 HB

Just picked up a awesome 1989 mustang hatchback with the 5.0 HO and 5 speed. Has 175,000 miles with full tune up. This is my first Manuel car and an extremely excited. Only paid $2800. So far there are three issues, the fuel gauge Doesn't work very well, when cruse is activated the check engine light comes on, and the windows fog to the point you can't see out. I can't wait to get to drive her and get the hang of the 5 speed. Name: 755E76D3-80E2-4F93-A5D3-16D141685296-2179-000000E353591619_zpseacfdd0f.jpg

Your windows fog because your heater core is out. Good luck with that mate. Heater core is a royal PITA. As for the cruise, I have no answer for you there.

She looks solid though. Fix that heater core and you'll be fine.

Doesn't a bad heater core give off an antifreeze odor?

Welcome to MF. Really clean car. I'm sure you will get any issues with it ironed out. The manual adds to the driving experience IMO.

Thanks, she spent her life in a garage for the past 7 years, PO drove her once a month on a Sunday. For what I paid the issues are minimal and it runs like a top!

bad heater core will probably make the passenger side floor wet by the firewall, feet area..air conditioning part will fog up the windows sometimes. i dont remember if it is the condensor that may be bad? check tech section.

Sure thing, since they moved my thread now I guess I'll ask, what are some mods that will benifit me the most? My co worker said I should put some 3.55 gears and an exhaust.

I was shocked as well! Not a single tear on the seats and no rust! Very happy so far.
