Default found my problem.....

My dad had a old school light signal diagnostic checker and i ran the test on my car. It brought up code 33 which is EGR valve position sensor or pressure feedback egr sensor indicates that the EGR valve is not opening or the egr valve is not seated or closed properly. Would it be the valve itself that is bad, or the sensors?

I plugged the vaccum line going into the egr and that seemed to help a lot, i think the car still has some vaccum problems but that seemed to be most the problem.

Those things are a pain in the butt. I just had to take mine off because I baught a BBK Adj. fuel reg. and it wouldnt fit w/ the EGR there. I just made a temp. aluminum block off plate.

to check if the egr is working take it off the tb and take a vaccume tester and hook it up to it and see if the valve moves in or out. then pump it to 10 or so on the gauge and see if the vlave closes if it dose the egr is no good, but if it stays in the same place its ok and the sensor is no good or a vaccume hose is broken.

i used a vaccum tester on it, and the valve seems to be fine. However, we started the car and took the vaccum hose off the egr and it didnt seem to have any vaccum, so its either the sensor or the vaccum hose. Wouldnt plugging the vaccum hose and unplugging the sensor fix the problem?
