Sounds like the MAF sensor to me. Mine did the same thing so i unpluged it and drove it and it runs like a champ!! Ive been driving with it unpluged for about 2 months now.lol. prolly not to good but im only 17 and saving for a new one with 24 lb injectors so maybe try unpluging it and drive around the block and see how it feels.

I've got an 87 LX that is doing the same thing. I'm going to change the MAF and O2 sensors this weekend. I'll post and let you know if it fixes it.
Good Luck and let me know if you find the answer.

i've already swapped MAS....no luck. haven't tried the coil, don't see how it could be that, but hey! i've tried everything else except the timing chain and ecu, so i'll swap the coil real quick.

have you tried an ignition module, and 02 sensors? a timing chain is not the most fun job in the world, so i would not do that unless i had to, if your timing chain sliped most of the time it wont run at all, or it will run really bad, or you would be able to adjust the timing and it would run better, but not great

tried ignition module, o2 sensor's wouldn't cause it. timing chain does suck but i'm sure it's either fuel pump, ecu or the timing chain. i tested the fuel pump for pressure but not flow... either way i dislike this car.

well i would say its not the timing chain, most of the time when a timing chain slips it will be hard to start. or it wont start at all. when you put the timing light on the car what is the timing set at? and if you can get someone to give it a little gas and see if the timing jumps or not, it should move some but not a whole lot. also get a 15/16 socket and ratchet for the crank pullie take the dizzy cap off and put the ratchet on the bolt for the harmonic damper and move the crank a little back and forth and see how much it takes to move the rotor in the dizzy, is should not take much movement of the crank to move the rotor. if it takes a lot that will say the timing chain is worn, if it takes a little its prolly ok. now that wont tell you if it has jumped or not, it will just tell you if it is worn. hope this helps.
