Default Screwy electronics (project)

I have a 95 gt that has some issues with the electronics. I'm not sure if they're related but the clock, console power outlet and brights don't work. There was an aftermarket head unit that works fine. But everything that does work operates with no key. I think I have a crappy ignition cuz the key is difficult and the ring around it rotates freely. I can roll the windows up, operate the radio without the key inserted. I'm also pretty sure the previous owner had subs installed. All fuses are good under the column and hood. This issue has ruined my battery so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like your car has 24/7 juice from someone messing up installing the stereo...not sure why they'd need to mess with the ignition. Basically, when you turn your key to the "off" position and pull it out, it's not really shutting stuff off in the car, that's why your battery is being drained. Check fuses, then I would replace your ignition switch. Since I am not an electrical guy, past that, if it were mine, I would take it somewhere and have them check it out.

If your ignition switch is screwy, I'd probably start there.. It may not be turning to its full potential of "off"...

Fixing something that needs fixed anyhow isn't going to hurt any...
