Default power steering problem??

Most of the time when i turn my wheel it makes a whining type sound. I'm assuming its the power steering pump. I believe it was replaced before I bought the car. If I bleed it will the problem go away? Or do I need to buy another pump? Thanks

It is most likely going to be your pump. I just got a new pump 2 days ago and it was such a pain. It took my 4 hours to figure out how to get the pulley off (never changed one before). I thought that a pulley came w/ the pump when you buy it but its just the pump itself *no casing* and in order to get the casing off the pulley must be removed. Just remember that it needs to be removed w/ a pulley remover. It looks like it can be taken off w/ a socket but its all part of the shaft. Its just a lot of muscle and a pain in the butt. Good luck if you have to change it. Let me know what happens.

Fords are famous for having a power steering pump that whines, I know my pump does it if the car is running and Im stopped and turn the wheel, I dont think anything is wrong with it, its just the way theyre made that makes it do it. Unless yours is a real loud whine or sum other weird *** noise.
