Camshaft movement
I installed the cam and thrust plate. The cam moves in and out a little bit. Should there be no movement at all?

there should be some movement, you'll have to measure it to see if end play is within spec

A few months ago I bought a Cloyes timing chain (part number 9145) and today I tried putting it on and it does not fit. The teeth won't go into the chain nice and even. What timing chain should I buy that will fit?

I think if the camshaft movement exceeds .009 they want you to replace the thrust plate.
