need some help/advice
hey everyone im new to this for so forgive me if i put this in the wrong section. i own a 91 notchback that i bought a few months ago. the timing was way to advanced so i ajusted it. well the stock distributor went out on my a few days ago so i put in a msd one in. i cant adjust it to 10 degrees before BTC with out it stalling. the only way the car runs is if its a 20-30 degrees BTC. i got the #1 spark plug on the compression stroke the timing marks on the balancer at 0 degrees before BTC, rotor facing the #1 stark plug wire. i try to set the timing to 10 but it will just stall this also happened with the old distributor. my question is what could cause this or did anyone have a similar issue? please help i just want my car running like it should

ok it wasnt the balancer everything lined up i got the car set to 10 degrees but the cars misfiring and i cant go full throttle without it jerking. i think its the msd distributor before the old one when everything was running like it should. im going to take the msd **** out and get a stock one
