Default Headlights and fog lights not turning on.

Im having an issue with my 1990 gt. Over time when i would turn on the headlights and fogs my headlights wouldnt always turn on right away. i would have to flicker the highbeams until the headlights shined. so just a few days ago i guess that gave out. I do have break lights but the fogs wont turn on if the headlights wont go on (always been like that). The only source of headlights i have is if i pull the light lever back to shine the high beams if i turn on the highbeams (click foward) they dont turn on. I changed the bulbs and it was the same issue. My buddy ran some rests on the wires and fuse and everything seemed ok. We took off the headlight/fog switch and and the switch connector assembly seemed a little burnt in one of the ports and cracked. He assumed something could have over heated I always keep my fogs and headlights on whenever i drive at night. I read up on something that the fog lights tend to overheat the harness? correct me if im wrong. Im about to buy a new headlight connector assembly with the wires.

yes there is a fix for the harness. google "gt fog light fix". you'll likely need to replace the headlight switch as well, possibly the high beam multifunction switch too.

i was hoping i wouldnt have to replace the headlight and fog switch i literally replaced it with a brand new one back in april because my friend snapped the front covers or displays off the original one. It was wasnt necessary it was fully functional it just bothered me because it looked ugly. So would you recommend i buy the connector assembly with 6 inch wires which will obviously have to be spliced and connected again along with the multi function lever? and im really hoping i dont have to buy the headlight fog switch over again.
