Default oil pan dipstick problems

i have an 85 ford mustang lx that had a 2.3L engine i ripped that out to put in a 5.0L engine the engine was complete and sitting in my garage for a good 15ish years so i am in the process of rebuilding it but hit a problem. the block is from a 74 ford falcon and before i had it another guy had it in his 71 ford f-100. it has no hole for a dipstick tube on either side of the block they went through the timing cover in the front driver side because of the deep truck pan they had on the block originality. i cant use that hole because of the mustang pan has the two humps and the deep part is in the back instead of the front, unless im wrong its been a wile since i looked at the pan if i am let me know. i would like to just get a pan with a dipstick tube in the side of it, either I buy a new one for over $150 or get an old one to cut the side of the pan out and weld in the tube port to my mustang pan i already have. I would really like to know both of my options if anyone finds a new pan with the tube in the side of it for cheap please post it. if you know what vehicle came stock with a oil pan with the tube in the side of it please post that as well. can anyone help me on this dilemma im having i would really like to get my F.U.B.A.R back on the road. thanks

its not really gonna be cheap...honestly if you havent put this engine in and i assume its stock i would buy another engine buy one from a lincoln mark 7 the 5.0 are exactly the same as 87-92 5.0s with forged pistons and they are 5.0HO(they usually sell for less because they arent a "mustang" motor and are usually less beat on in cars they came out of and will directly drop into your car without swapping anything probably get a complete motor from intake manifold to motor mounts for 150$) i am assuming you are going EFI

why wouldn't it be cheap? thats a simple weld job as long as you know where to put it.

I have the same issue as riddlebox24. Here is my issue and I hope someone can help. I have a 1969 289 from a Torino. It has the front oil sump and the dipstick is in the front timing cover. I am planning to put this in a Fox body Mustang. It needs a hump style oil pan which I have ordered. It is Spectra Premium FP11C. The dipstick tube is on the drivers side of the pan and I believe it is screwed in. Apparently 1979 was the only year Ford/Mercury put the dipstick in the oil pan rather than in the block. I have to use this application as my 289 does not have the provision in the block for a dipstick. Can someone help me with some suppliers or part numbers for the following:
1. Dipstick
2. Long oil pump screen and oil pump pick up tube.
