I just finished installing a set of cobra heads on my 1990 coup 5.0 and started installing a set of 1.7 crane cam roller rockers , pedestal mount typs. I have never done rockers of any typ before. So I did my homework and found out I need do each rocker when the valves are closed, no problem. Ok so find zero lash then tighten to 20 ft pounds of torque. if bolt turns shorter then 1/4 turn then change rods and if longer then a full rotation then add shims. This is when the problem for me started. My bolts took 1.5 rotation to reach 20 ft torque. So I added a thick shim first ( .060 shim ) now I am at 3/4 of a rotation. Is this ok or will I have issues? What typ issues could I get if my bolt was at a full rotation?
