I have a no crank issue that the po fixed with a push button starter so after getting that out of the way with the key cranked ive got 12v at the w/p wire on the switch but nothing at the b/r wires at the clutch switch ive chased both as far as I could see ( with the dash torn apart, driver seat out , and unwraping half the harness) and cant figure out where these two are supposed to meet?? im 6'2" 230lbs and just spent the last 2 hours upsidedown under my dash please help

Either get the factory service manual for your year/model ride, or get an account at alldatadiy.com, so you can get the wiring diagrams for your ride. That would probably have saved you at least an hour or so in your search. Good luck...

Here are a couple diagrams that show the routing of the ignition wire that sends signal to the relay to start. Notice the white/pink 18 ga. wire Goes directly to either the neutral safty on an auto or clutch interlock on a manual trans. So it should be white/pink to the clutch interlock then red/lt green to the relay. Now different years used different colors like you say yours is brown/red at the clutch interlock. If your getting 12 volts through out the w/p wire right up to the clutch interlock but with the clutch depressed your not getting any thing after the interlock then the interlock is bad.
I would guess to say that if you jumped the w/p wire around the interlock temporarily to the other side it would crank.

The clutch interlock is nothing more than a bridge for the voltage to cross over to the starter relay. Pressing the clutch completes this connection. It also sends a 12 volt signal to the tfi so that under cranking conditions the module can pull some timing out for an easier start.

thanks for the response guys I know how the switch works ive taken it out and jumped it but that was of no use because I didn't have any power to the switch.....what I have is a white/pink wire that has cranking power that leads up under the dash (into a bundle of wires)???............at the clutch switch I have 2 connecters 1 for cruise and the other has 3 blue and red wires going to it with 2 of them on the same side (thank you ford for making them all the same color!!) 1 of the wires goes to a black connecter behind the kick panel and changes to a blue wire?? must be the tfi? and the other 2 wires seem to run through the fire wall where I loose them. so I was hoping to get the exact location of where the w/p wire connects to or powers the b/r wire in the first diagam it shows the white/pink wire going to the neutral switch first....I found that and jumped it but there were no white/pink wires I think it was more like black and orange im going to go test for power at the neutral switch I jumped it but never tested it..

its a green and a orange wire at the neutral switch and the green wire has .9v with the key on and 0v when cranking

just to be clear the car is a 92 gt 5 speed...the t5 also has a neutral safety switch...is this switch on the front of the trans part of the clutch interlock circuit? or is the neutral switch only used in that circuit on auto cars? what do I have to do to get rid of this code 67?
