Default egr plate vs spacer

im a carb guy and know how plenum volume affects carbs but what affect does it have on our 5.0efi motors?? reason I ask is im deleting my egr and spacer and have 2 options either a $30 3/8" plate for the throttle bracket or a $60 2" dummy spacer...is it worth $30 for the plenum volume or does it not matter with efi? id rather bolt the tb right to the manifold (less chance of a vac leak) but cant figure out a clean way to hang my throttle cable...if anyone has pics of a good throttle setup without a plate or spacer that would be awesome too thanks guys

I made a bracket out of 1/16" thick aluminum, braced with a smaller piece of 1/8" aluminum on the bottom bolts to stiffen those connection points, both bent in a vise, and bolted the two braces directly to the throttle body, and then the throttle bracket to the fabricated aluminum brackets - no spacers. Been on the car for 2 years now, and I haven't touched it - works perfect. It looks cleaner, and gave me a little more length to work with for the air tube going to the MA sensor.
