ok when my car idels it goes up and down like bad, think it has a cam and some times it stales. its not a mass air car so not sure what it could be its really annyoing, could it be the TPS??? i though it was my on going prob the fuel pump, i replaced that yesterday because it fianlly took a dump on me, totaly dif car now, but it still does it, ive cleaned that thing on the side of the throttle boddy that is round and has like a plunger thing in it, but that didnt help either!! any one have any ideas???

yes it has always done it from day one, even with the new motor i put in it, did it with the old one and does it with the new one

Well you got quite a few things it can be.



1: EGR Valve or sensor.


2: H2o sensors.


3: Vaccum line leak.

check all your sensors they can be checked with a voltmeter and for vacume leaks on mine i did a 4cyl to v8 conversion the motor always idled up and down i changed every sensor in the car went nuts looking for vacume leaks couldnt find any and finally i read a post about how speed density has trouble with larger cams and could cause a idle to hunt up and down. since i didnt know what cam was in it because it was a used motor i just opted to go with the mass air conversion, even if i didnt work it was a good performance up grade but it fixed all my problems with my idle.

did you replace these parts when you put the new motor in:

PCV Valve and Screen
Fuel Filter


Clean the IAC and MAF and EGR

Reset the TPS

ya im having a horrible idel problem in the mournings also.. i have mass air though.
