Default Resolving problems with 1990 Convertible

Just traded for this car and knew it had been in a front end accident. Other
than some poor welding, the repairs seemed to be be good and the
car was sound, but 23 years old with 59K miles.

Then fan shroud had been broken and the only part left on the car
was the top and a couple of inches of the sides...I ordered a new
shroud and the fan and clutch was new and the radiator...

After putting on the new shroud, the fan hit all along the bottom
and lower sides of the shroud when turned by hand. The shroud was
ordered with the install kit and it was installed properly. The lower
radiator rubber was in place and it fit into the clips on the bottom
well and evenly.

After looking it over, I checked the motor mounts: the drivers side
had very little rubber left and was torn up...no rubber at all in the
passenger side.

Since it is a convertible, the mounts were not in stock at my local
O'Reilly, but will be in the same day before closing from the local
warehouse..with new rubber mounts I expect the fan to be raised
up about 3/4 of a inch and clear things properly...will report back
the end results.

Now to order all the top and quarter window seals for the next
project....the proper overflow bottle instead of a Jack Daniels
bottle
wire wrapped to the side of the engine compartment..

Sorry, just rambled on...question is: What is the easiest way to change the motor mounts?

Have the jack procedure and know where to put it up on the jack stands...

jack the motor as high as you can, I have used a block of wood on the oil pan as well as using a screw jack on the bellhousing, but then again I do all servicing on a lift nowadays

i do one mount at a time instead of undoing both that way nothing shifts...i run solid mounts on my vert they were way cheaper than rubber mounts to go back stock

Smile Mounts are in and the fan fits in the shroud perfectly

I did one mount at a time with it jacked up on stands and then a board under the oil pan - to the trans.

Both mounts were totally broken up and doing nothing at all.

Not a bad job at all if you have long extensions and a flash light...

Thanks for the suggestions....
