Oh and one more thing to watch is the lower radiator hose . There is a spring inside the lower radiator hose to prevent it from collapsing from the suction of the pump.

If the hoses have been on there for a long time Ive seen the spring rust to nothing and fall apart , the hose is old and it collapses every time the thermostat opens causing a blockage righ there.

I just changed my entire cooling system, timing cover and all. I had to make sure they got me a reverse rotation water pump. I know it sounds simple like the thermostat thing but make sure you have the right water pump and check the belt routing etc. Everyone else has good ideas. Check for lower coolant hose collapse under throttle. Oh, I also got a stock replacement radiator for about $80 so it will be cheap insurance.

Please keep us informed. I learn something every time I keep up with these types of posts.
