I ended up changing the ECT sensor as it was only $22. I noticed that there are two identical plugs at the end of the wiring harness that could lug into it. The one that was plugged into the original may not have been making contact. I decided to go with the other plug. The wiring diagram lists colors other than what the two plugs are so it's a total crapshoot.

One of the has an orange or red and yellow wire. The other has a green and white with red strip wire. I went with the green and white with red strip wire. If anyone can shed some light on which plug is right, please let me know.

Not sure why there are two plugs. Maybe the stock manifold had some other thing that the other plug plugged into. Hmmm

Here's a pic..

I also blocked off the line to the canister from the fuel tank. The other port on the canister was completely empty and not doing anything. I hope that doesn't have an ill effect.

I also have an EGR valve ordered for tomorrow morning.

I'm just throwing parts at it at this point.

I have not bee able to run the car as I didn't want to wake the neighborhood up. It's a big loud.

Still running rich with new ECT. Now onto egr tinight. Still throwing parts at it.

I would love to hear thoughts on the state of the canister. Mimblocked off the line coming from the tank as there wasn't a line connected from the canister to the upper intake. I am not sure where it would even go to the intake. So confused.

Im curious about that extra plug , that had to be added . There is no other plug on the end of it. If I were you id dig back into those wires and make sure some one didn't splice that in and have the wires all screwed up in there.

I hear you buddy. It is bizarre. I may kick and Punt and get to a mustang specialty shop. I am throwing parts at it for little reason. Did the stock intake have an extra injector spot for when the car was in cold mode. I remember in the old days cars having an extra one.

Any clue on the canister vacuums and me plugging the one from the tank?

Thanks!!

Ok, going to a mustang shop to diag the rich condition and then tune the car. It's going to be expensive, but it may be more pricy to jus throw parts at it.

Thanks everyone for you help.

Thanks MJR. I really appreciate your responses.

I don't think that I have the canister purge iir anywhere on the motor so there is no place to plug in the other plug. I will check the plugs and see if I can figure out the colors based on the wiring diagram. There is some sort of cap on a hole in the lower cobra intake that the iir could have been. Do I need this thing? I blocked off the line from the gas tank to the canister for now so I assume that this is the other end of the deal.
